Steps from the driveway
A long walk and a few steps to the door is fine until it ices over. A ramp or graded no-step path changes that.
Getting in and out of the barn clothes
A back entry with a bench, hooks and good light, close to a bath, makes farm chores easier as knees and backs age.
Far from town, close to home
Butler is quiet farm country between Wolcott and the Cayuga County line, with Route 89 and Route 104 as the main roads. Homes are spread out, and many are older farmhouses built in steps as families grew. Help is not always next door.
That is why we plan for independence. A first-floor bed and bath, an entry you can use in snow, light switches where you need them. When the house works for you, staying on your own land is a lot more realistic.

Permit check with the town
Plumbing moves, wall changes and ramps may need a permit from the Town of Butler code enforcement officer. We handle it.
Do the bath and entry first
Those carry the most risk. Doors, rails and lighting follow.
How we build it
Whole bath, not a liner
We remove the old tub or shower, repair any rot in the floor, waterproof and build new. A curbless shower needs the floor framed for it, which we can do when it is open. Walk-in tubs are an option too.
Manufactured homes
Floors in manufactured home baths are often soft from years of small leaks. We replace the subfloor, then install the shower, a comfort-height toilet and grab bars with solid backing.
Septic and well houses
Adding a first-floor bath in a country home means finding a route to the septic. We check it before we promise a layout.
