Huron has been fruit and farm country since it split from Wolcott in 1826, and it still is. Inland, the houses are farmhouses with working kitchens. How many pans, how much pantry, which appliances live on the counter. It tells us how much storage you need.
Plan for the permit
Moved plumbing, new circuits and opened walls go through the Town of Huron building department on Lummisville Road. We file it.

Cottage kitchens
Small kitchens gain the most from smart storage: tall pantry cabinets, drawers instead of base doors, and a peninsula that doubles as a table. If the cottage is now your full-time home, we also look at the electrical service, since camps often had very little.
Farmhouse kitchens
Old floors here can be out of level, and walls are rarely square. We level the floor framing and scribe cabinets to the walls so the counters sit flat.

Is a permit needed to redo a kitchen in Huron?
Swapping cabinets and counters in place usually is not. New circuits, moved plumbing or walls coming out usually are. The Town of Huron building department handles it and we pull the permit.
